서민정 은 구조물에서 시작해 작가 상상의 공간을 만들고, 그곳에 본인만의 거인을 배치하는 작업을 한다. 거인은 특정 인물을 지칭 하기 보다는, 모든 것을 품는 어떤 하나의 큰 덩어리이다. 실존주의와 부조리 철학의 영향을 받았으며, 작가가 만든 그림 속 세계 안에서 거인은 자기의 자리를 찾고 그 곳에서 또 다른 가능성을 되찾으려 한다. 개인의 상상력에서부터 문학, 신화 등 다양한 인문을 아우르는 스토리를 이어가고 있다.
Suh Minjung creates imaginary realms based on structural forms, where she places "Giants"—entities representing an all-embracing whole rather than a particular person. Drawing from existentialism and the absurd, the artist depicts these Giants finding their place and exploring new potential within her visual world. Her practice weaves a rich tapestry of storytelling that spans personal fantasy, literature, and ancient myths.
