배민영의 도자기의 단단해 보이고 반짝거리지만 한편으로는 쉽게 깨지는 모순적인 성질을 이용하여 현대 사회의 발전에서 기인한 허상과 같은 욕망에 대해 이야기한다. 작가는 작업을 통해 오브제(현대인)의 본질과 시선을 홀리는 찰나의 반짝임에 대해 이야기한다. 화려해 보이지만 실상은 외부 충격에 쉽게 허물어질 수 있는 현대인의 내면을 짚어냈다.
Utilizing the contradictory nature of ceramics—solid and glossy, yet easily broken—Bae Min-young explores the illusory desires of modern society. Her work uses these objects as a metaphor for contemporary individuals, focusing on the fleeting sparkle that captivates the eye. Ultimately, she reveals the hidden vulnerability of modern people: appearing glamorous on the outside, but easily shattered by external impact.
